WestWind North American Maintenance Facility by Kyle Ramsey

WestWind's North American Maintenance Facility is located at Denver International Airport. The facility consists of three buildings (two hangers and an office) a large ramp and a taxiway between the facility and WestWind's terminal #4. The #1 or West Hanger is built to hold two 747 or 777s and two 757s or 767s during level D (rebuild) maintenance. The #2 or East Hangar is built to work on our smaller aircraft such as the B757 and smaller. All of WestWind's aircraft maintenance for aircraft based out of North America is coordinated out of th office building located nearby. Running a Unix based software on a WAN, aircraft maintenance reports from the 14 US HUBs are routed here where maintenance is planed and aircraft are assigned against routes. All of this happens electronically and WestWind's most advanced aircraft (B777, B747, A380, B767-400, and the ERJ) have build-in capability to report system status directly through the AIRINC(TM) network. Thus if a B747 from KLAX to KJFK looses a generator in flight, this office is notified and can start coordinating for a replacement even before the problem aircraft lands at KJFK. With this new facility, WestWind has the capability of conducting hangered maintenance on our entire fleet minus the A380. Its tail is just a little too big to fit into the hanger.
