P152: Iguazú Falls (Part VFR) |
---|
Iguazú Falls is located on the western border between Brazil and Argentina.
This wonderful landmark is the result of a volcanic eruption that left another
large crack in the earth. During the rainy season of November - March, the
rate of flow of water going over the falls may reach 450,000 cubic feet (12,750
cubic m) per second.
Read about the Falls here Iguazu Falls or here Welcome to Argentina Tourism is at its highest rate ever in Brazil and Argentina, with full flights in and out of Buenos Aires (SBGL) and Rio de Janeiro (SAEZ) daily. Geologists and volcano researchers come to the Falls to study this phenomenon. We have aircraft to accommodate any number of passengers, from a few people to large tour groups. Choose your aircraft by selecting Pilot’s Discretion below at Aircraft. Depart either Galeao-Antonia C. Jobim Intl (SBGL) in Rio de Janeiro or Ezeiza Intl Ministro Pistarin (SAEZ) in Buenos Aires and fly to either Cataratas Intl (SBFI) or Mayor D Carlos Krause (SARI) in Iguazú. Upon arrival your passengers want a sightseeing tour over the falls. Board your passengers into a helicopter such as the Aerospatiale SA-341 Gazelle Bell 206, or Bell 206B HAP or into a small fixed wing aircraft. Customers who want the ultimate thrill can charter the Cessna C208 Caravan Amphibian, DeHavilland DHC-3 TTC Super Otter, Grumman G21, or Quest Aircraft Company Kodiak for water landings around the falls. Return your group from the falls tour to the airfield you departed in Iguazú, and then return everyone to your original departure airport, either Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires. Enjoy your flights. Grumman G21 Goose Our hangar has only a FSX version. FS9 pilots who wish to fly the Grumman G21 Goose may download a freeware version from Mike Stone’s Hangar. Water landings in amphibians are fun.
