P191: Aerial Rescue near Mersea Island VFR |
---|
Marsea Island is located 25.5 nautical miles East South East of Stansted
Airport. Not known for its rough seas, the disappearance of a small craft is
unusual.
About fifteen minutes ago, a distress signal was received from that area. We received a call from the British Coast Guard to help in the search. Fly from Stansted to Marsea Island. A heading of 110 degrees should get you there. Search an area north up the coast line. If you see anything that resembles a 25 foot blue and white boat or two male persons in the water, contact the Coastal Patrol and identify the exact location. Make water landings in an amphibian at your discretion. Return. WWA has a Recognition Award for Humanitarian Flights for pilots who fly 150 hours of humanitarian oriented Executive or Cargo Charters. Humanitarian Charters are Executive P004, P006 through P013, P025, P062, P067, P191, and/or P278 combined and Cargo Charters C032, C035, C044, and Operation East Wind Events.
