P221: Bridge Inspections |
---|
Following the tragic collapse of an Interstate Highway bridge in Minneapolis,
MN., Transportation Department bridge inspectors from countries around the
world have charters with WWA. The inspectors are checking the status of all the
bridges in the country beginning with bridges that handle the most traffic.
Bridges span rivers, ocean inlets, gorges, valleys, and high terrain. Some
inspectors depart the country’s Capitol airport. Other inspectors depart from
state, province, or regional airports. Fly to an airport near the bridge. Make
water landings in an amphibian at your discretion. Board a light aircraft or
helicopter. Fly to the bridge. Fly to as many bridges as practical in one day.
Return.
