WestWind Charters - Pacific is now the proud owner of a couple of Bell 206 helicopters. These are now available for scenic flight charters. Note: While there are other local scenery charters available, these are specifically for helicopter pilots. Flying low in a helicopter in FSX is pretty spectacular. Southern Tour - Fly this helicopter tour at 1500-2000 ft. Depart Archerfield (YBAF) Australia and proceed southeast to the Jacobs Well (JCW) navaid. Head south over water past the Gold Coast tourist strip at the Tweed River inlet (just south of Cooloongatta Airport), turn south west. Stay south of the border ranges until you come to mountains in front of you. You may find a small town nestled in a bowl of mountains. Head north again to Archerfield via the Bromelton NDB. There are some nice valleys in the border ranges to fly through on the way home. Northern Tour - Fly these helicopter tours at 1500-2000 ft. Depart Archerfield (YBAF) and proceed to the Jacobs Well (JCW) vor. Proceed north and follow North Stradbroke and Moreton islands. At the tip of Moreton Island, head past the Glasshouse Mountains to Landsborough. Turn southwest to Kilcoy. From Kilcoy, head south via Somerset and Wivenhoe dams. Head back to Archerfield via Amberley AFB. Naturally, pilots can create their own flight plans as required, but these flights highlight the local scenery.
