P286: Dubai Metro Construction |
---|
The Dubai Metro is a driverless, fully automated metro network which is under construction in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. The Red and Green Lines are under construction, and further lines are planned. These first two lines will run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere. The Dubai Metro will be the longest fully automated rail system in the world when it opens in September 2009. The Westwind Executive Charter Division has been contracted to fly engineers from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (the producer of the trains), from Tokyo Narita Airport (RJAA) to Dubai Intl. (OMDB), to prepare for the delivery of the trains. Some engineers will be required to be collected by helicopter from Tokyo Heliport (RJTI), so if you can fly a helicopter, we need you!! If not, don’t worry about it, a lot of engineers will be transported from the Mitsubishi HQ directly to Narita airport. Engineers will also be required to be returned to Tokyo.
