The League of Arab States is a 22 member organization formed in 1945. The purpose of the organization is to strengthen relations between the member States and coordinate their political activities with the aim of realizing a close collaboration between them, to safeguard their independence and sovereignty, and to consider in a general way the affairs and interests of the Arab countries. WestWind Executive Charters has been contracted to provide air service for official dignitaries of any Member State to their League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo, Egypt (HECA).
Each year the League of Arab States will hold a Summit between all Member States. The location of this summit varies from year to year, and WestWind Executive Charters has been asked to provide air services for dignitaries and other officials from the above list to the Summit location. Additionally there are four observer states that may send officials to the summit, these states can express their views but may not vote on any resolutions.
The 2012 Summit was held in Baghdad, Iraq in March. The 2013 Summit will be held in Doha, Qatar in March. NOTAM: Syria has been suspended from the League of Arab States as of 16 November 2011 due to violence against civilian protesters. NOTAM:Due to recent violence, flights from Mogadishu are currently suspended. Flights from Somalia will instead depart from HCMH.
