P353: Meigs Field 40th Anniversary Charter |
---|
Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport (KCGX) was an airport on a man-made peninsula on Lake Michigan not too far from downtown Chicago. Most notably, Meigs Field has been the default airport for the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise from the very first version to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Unfortunately, in 2003, the airport was abruptly shut down, but it remained a huge part of many flight simmers. For the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise's 40th anniversary, the WestWind Executive Charter Division has set up a special charter for WestWind captains and the greater flight simulation community. You have multiple options as to how you would like to complete this charter: 1. Fly-in from any airport, hub, or mini-hub and fly into Meigs Field (KCGX) with an aircraft of your choice. It's your choice to fly one-way or round trip, although most charters are round trip. 2. Treat your passengers to a helicopter tour around Chicago. Depart Meigs Field, fly to any place of your choosing, and return to Meigs Field. 3. In the 1950s and 60s, there were scheduled passenger helicopter flights from Meigs to O'Hare and Midway. Depart from Meigs and fly to either O'Hare or Midway. Again, you may choose to fly one-way or round trip. This charter was created by Capt.
