AKC002: WestWind Alaska Regional Crab & Fishing Charters
WestWind Alaska Regional Cargo has been contracted to help out during the crab & fishing season in the Aleutian chain of Alaska.
During the above seasons operations will be ongoing during daylight hours between Unalaska (PADU), Cold Bay (PACD), Adak (PADK), King Salmon (PAKN), and Anchorage (PANC). The return trip from Anchorage will be empty, unless through your resourcefulness you find a load to take back. Fly as many round trips per day as you can. The crabs and fish you deliver to Anchorage will be transferred to WestWind Cargo's larger aircraft for distribution throughout the world. AKC003: Barrow Research/Pipeline Resupply Charter The town of Barrow, the Barrow Arctic Science Consortium and Alaskan pipeline workers, located north of the Arctic Circle, require regular shipments of supplies and equipment. WestWind Alaska Cargo Charters will provide cargo flights from both Anchorage and Fairbanks to Barrow. Dress warm and watch out for Polar Bears on the runway at Barrow. Enjoy the Northern Lights display on those flights in darkness. AKC004: Island Cargo Run Westwind Alaska has been contracted for weekly cargo flights from Anchorage to two western islands in the Bering Sea; St. Lawrence Island and Nunivak Island. St. Lawrence Island is located 590 nm from Anchorage. Savoonga Airport (PASA) has a 4400’ gravel runway. Nunivak Island is located 480 nm from Anchorage. Mekoryuk Airport (PAMY) has a 3700’ gravel runway. We have two options for cargo flights. A Cat II plane will fly to one of the locations and return to Anchorage, then reload and fly to the other location. A Cat III or higher category aircraft will first fly to Savoonga, unload and then fly to Mekoryuk. Return to Anchorage after Mekoryuk. Pilots are authorized to fly cargo back to Anchorage from either location without prior approval as long as the cargo meets safety requirements. Pilots must use any propellor driven aircraft capable of operating out of gravel runways. Both gravel strips are short, so that must also be taken into consideration. Aircraft:

AKC005: Medical Supply Delivery Westwind has been contracted to provide weekly medical supply runs to various villages in western Alaska. Initially, we’ve accepted responsibility for a few routes, with more to be added as further capacity is needed. Captains will be loading their aircraft at Unalakleet or Nome and making stops as scheduled on the following routes:

Option 2 Due to short runways at these destinations only the following aircraft will be suitable: Beechcraft 58G, Beechcraft 1900, Cessna 172, Cessna 185, Cessna 208B, DeHavilland DHC 2, DeHavilland DHC 3, DeHavilland DHC 6, Maule M7, and Piper PA- 28.
Option 3 A Cat III prop aircraft will be used for this route: Grumman G21A, Lockheed L100, and Lockheed L188. AKC006: Medical Supply - Eastern Alaska Westwind has been contracted to provide medical supply runs to various villages in eastern Alaska. Captains will be loading their aircraft at Fairbanks and making stops as scheduled on the following route:

AKC007: Adak Resupply Charter
WestWind Alaska Regional Cargo has been contracted to supply Adak and the Aleutian chain of Alaska. Pilots will pick up a cargo load in Anchorage and fly to Adak (PADK). From Adak cargo will be distributed by ship to surrounding islands. At Adak be resourceful so the return trip is not empty. AKC010: National Park Assistance to Kotzebue Ahead of the summer season, 3 national parks near Kotzebue have contacted us to bring in a large variety of equipment to help preserve the Parks and also to entertain their guests. Pilots will fly a large variety of items which may include fertilizer, food and drink for guests, hunting equipment, preservation equipment and much more. Additionally this charter will also carry regular freight to the people of Kotzebue. This freight will be loaded on to your aircraft in Anchorage and you will be informed by the Dispatcher. AKC011: Mining Exploration in Nome
We had recieved a number of request from a number of mining companies
to carry supplies to Nome for mines at various stages of exploration.
This charter will cover 6 mines. 3 of which are Gold Mines. Bluff,
Council Gold and Kelly Creek. The others include a Graphite Mine at
Graphite Creek, a Copper, Iron and Gold mine at Kugruk, and a
Zinc, Lead and Silver mine at Anugi.

AKC012: Point Hope Exports As part of a redevelopment plan to grow indigenous industries in Alaska, Westwind Alaska have been asked to aid the people of Point Hope in bringing their home produced goods to the rest of the world. Pilots will fly out from Anchorage (PANC) with supplies, mail and other general cargo to Point Hope (PAPO) and fly back with a selection of local goods such as whalebone masks, baleen baskets, ivory carvings and Eskimo clothing. You may occasionally be required to carry fish or other meat products from the city to Anchorage. AKC013: The St. Paul Island Run
Everyday our pilots make their way out to Saint Paul Island (PASN) via
King Salmon (PAKN). Our main Cargo on this run is fish and crab from both
Saint Paul and King Salmon but as we're the only airline serving Saint Paul
on a daily basis with Cargo aircraft.

AKC015: Yellowknife Mining Supplies
A large amount of mining companies operating in both Alaska and NWT have contracted
Westwind Alaska Cargo to operate mail and supplies from across Alaska to Yellowknife
via Anchorage.
This charter operates the longest leg of the journey from Anchorage to Yellowknife
where the cargo is then transported by road to offices and mines across NWT.
This is the longest flight we operate in Westwind Alaska, so we hope its not too
much of a shock to the system for you!

AKC018: Bethel Cargo Haul Bethel is the largest shipping port in western AK. In the summer, river travel is the primary means of transporting cargo from the Bethel hub to the surrounding communities. In the winter, cargo is delivered by snow mobiles to the surrounding villages. In the summer, daily cargo runs with our large cargo aircraft are needed. Since less activity occurs during the winter months, the daily routes are accomplished with our smaller cargo planes. AKC019: Sitka and Ketchikan With their large fishing, shipping, and tourism industries, Sitka (PASI)and Ketchikan (PAKT) have hired WWAk to deliver cargo to their respective airports. Flights are Mon, Wed, and Fri. on our large cargo planes. Due to the distance of the haul, and the amount of cargo carried, refueling at Sitka or Ketchikan might be necessary. AKC020: Salmon Lake Supply Run Westwind's Salmon Lake Resort, located on the western shore of Alaska, is in need of supplies. This is a year round resort that caters to all of our pilots and tourists that come to Alaska to hunt and fish and view the rugged terrain. The resort also becomes very busy around Thanksgiving when Westwind holds a get together for all of the airline's members. All manner of cargo is required including fuel, spare parts, food, and beverages. Cargo may be hauled from any location into Nome, Alaska with its 6001' runway in larger aircraft and then ferried from Nome into Salmon lake using smaller aircraft that have the ability to land on the 2499' gravel or snow landing strip.
