Regional Passenger Charter Details
Scenic Charter!
AKP010: Iditarod Trail |
---|
Westwind Regional Alaska is now offering an Iditarod trail charter. Fly your
passengers along the trail stopping at whatever checkpoints or other places
they want to visit.
The 2014 Iditarod starts on Sat., March 1 at 10:00am in Anchorage. The rest of the route is up to you and your passengers. Fly them to whatever checkpoints they want to see. Whether they want to be at a checkpoint for the lead pack to come through or follow their favorite team, it's the passengers' call. Pilots are to accommodate their passengers' requests as long as it is safe to do so. Keep in mind it is an even year, so the north route will be used.
This charter will require some careful planning to ensure it is a successful and safe adventure for our clients. Note that not all the checkpoints are served by a particular airport. In this case you can choose an appropriate off airport landing site. (frozen, lake, clearing, frozen river, etc.). Lat/Long have been included for your reference. All off airport landing locations are considered optional for this charter due to the risk of safe landings. For a complete listing of all check points please visit Iditarod Checkpoint List FSX/FS9 flightplan files can be downloaded here: North Route and South Route Aircraft used will be any suitable prop or helicopter at the Captain's discretion. Fly low and slow to give our customers the best view of the race, the trail and the beautiful Alaska scenery.
