Pilot's Six Month Checkride

Voluntary Certification

In our effort to maintain the best standards of training and flying at WestWind Airlines, we have introduced a new and improved model for Six Monthly Checkrides which is more aligned with that of the Real World. Every six months, our airline pilot's are given the opportunity to sit a checkride to make themselves current on their favourite airplanes.

The Checkride

The six monthly checkride can be conducted offline or online with one of our Flight Instructors. Every six months the checkride options are changed but they generally include scenarios such as Engine Failure, Fire, Cabin Emergency, Decompression, Gear Failure and much more. Each aircraft is examined seperately and at the end of your checkride you will fill out the checkride completion form and email it to the Chief Pilot for approval."

The Certificate

Although not an airline award, each pilot who completes a six monthly checkride will be added to our public list of Current Pilots available on the forum. Most importantly however you can be safe in the knowledge that you are one of the most qualified pilots on your favourite airplane at Westwind Airlines. Please remember this is NOT a mandatory training module.
